JAY TRIPWIRE'S BIO

With over 100 worldwide magazine features, write-ups and record reviews to date, Jay Tripwire has moved from a cornerstone in the West Coast warehouse scene of the early 90's, to performing in over 200 cities around the globe. His signature fusion of Detroit textures and intricate rhythms with a classic house touch has pushed him "ahead of everyone else," according to MUZIK.

While his personal arsenal of re-edits and comfort in arranging extended DJ sets lasting eight hours or more keeps him consistently booking tour dates, it's his over 250,000 vinyl records sold with 100+ releases and remixes on some of the finest underground house labels that he's perhaps most known for. His productions have been called "a DJ's dream packed with the finest tools from the trade" by URB, and he's "responsible for some of the most exciting underground house music to come out of North America in recent years" according to DJ Magazine.

His music has been featured on numerous commercially released mix CD's from Cocoon, Fabric, Renaissance, Journeys by DJ, Ultra & Bedrock by many major artists, and has been supported by a diverse spectrum of dance culture from DJs such as John Digweed and Laurent Garnier to Kerri Chandler and Mark Farina. He even has bass patches on numerous synths named after him, making Jay Tripwire a true legend in the music industry.

FLIP'S BIO

Hailing from St. Louis' tightly knit music community, Flip DJ'd and promoted weekly events at the notorious Upstairs Lounge for years, and is pushing successful events there to this day from his new home base in Los Angeles. After well over a decade of evolution as a producer, his influences and a core devotion to reinvention and progressive interpretation of music has made Flip more than an unassuming crowd pleaser, so much as an up and coming artist with true long term potential.

Excerpt from Jay Tripwire's blog - http://tiny.cc/E921x - thought it was worth sharing :) "what iam about- im here with my eyes open to whats really going down out there..and something is brewing..im out there week after week, gig after gig showing people that music is a strong universal vibration felt by those vibrating at a higher frequency,im teaching as many kids out there how to express themselves ...teaching them the ways of the force and showing the way out of the path to the darkside."

    •  I normally don't do this; however, I thought it would help the group going forward. I arrived approx 1100p and there were about 20 people inside. The DJ at that time had a decent set going on with about 8 people on the dance floor. As his set progressed, the audience related more to the change in music and we had about 40 mins of a full-on house music program. The dance floor had a good crowd, yet still people were leaving. The next DJ, had most of the crowd on their feet for about 45 mins; however, the music slowly evolved to a more electronic set, which caused folks to leave the dancefloor and ultimately the Ruby Room. I had a great time overall, however, I would be cautious of how you promote these events. Attract the appropriate audience so we can have a FULL dance floor at least 50% of the time. Thank you for reading...no harm is meant to anyone. I applaud what this group does regularly an will continue to support them in any way I can. Thanks for a great night!
