Joe DiPadova Taking 2nd Residency In Montreal - Farewell/Good Luck Party 6/27!

Hey everyone, there are some changes happening I need to fill you in on. For the last 6 or 8 months now, my good friend Jojoflores has been trying to get me to move to Montreal to work with him on music productions and events, but the idea and how it was presented was never enticing to me. During his last visit here while we were spending a lot of time working in the studio, we got a chance to really go in depth on what he was thinking, and the long and short of it is, he put it to me in a way I just couldn't refuse.

Exact details aside, I've decided to take a 2nd apartment there to work full time. I'll be keeping my place here, and will be coming back every couple months for a week or so at a time, and likely a month or 2 in the winter (I'm not a cold person anymore), but the end result is I will be for the most part living in Montreal as of the 29th of this month.

Jojo and I will be hitting the productions and remixes hard in a studio Gotsoul is putting together for us to work in, and will also be pushing events there, including a new DJ festival, and restarting his weekly party Therapy, which for the last 2 years has only happened every other month. Coupled with touring gigs (Asia is already in the works for the fall) and local things around Montreal, I'm going to have a full load there to keep up with.

While all of this is happening, Rani "g" and dk.strickler (aka Dave), along with an amazing team that's coming together almost as if by fate, will be running ONE here in AZ - the parties won't stop, and in fact if all comes together the way I feel it will, they're going to grow to be what I've been working toward all of these years. Stay tuned for some very, very exciting parties coming up (not just in your normal clubs & bars either ;-). As of August 15th, ONE will be happening every 3rd Friday, at either the Ruby Room for our intimate 21+ events, or other yet to be disclosed locations that are just DOPE for full on 18+ parties!

I deeply trust Rani and Dave with what I've built here, what I've put my heart and soul into, what I've gone into debt for, and what I've slaved for hours on end to create--I have an intense respect for them both personally & musically, and I know over the next months and years you will all come to see what I know to be true in them. They both have a very, very bright future in this music, not just in Phoenix, but in the world.

I need to make clear that I'm not completely moving, nor will I ever pull my roots here. Phoenix has become my home over the last 6 years, more so than Boston was in fact, and I love too many of you too dearly to leave forever. My love for Phoenix, which I wear proudly around the country when I play, has nothing to do with the city itself, but that which comprises this amazing city with so much potential--it's people--all of you. I'm not sure yet how long I'll be in Montreal--maybe only months, potentially years, but I do intend to return afterward.

Beyond all of this, our good friend and beloved artist Katie Romans also happens to be moving to Chicago at the same time--1 day after I leave, in fact. Katie was accepted to one of the most prestigious grad programs in the country for her field, in a city she's wanted to live in for years--what an amazing time for her! If she has any pieces left after she shows at Solstice Saturdays @ Bar Smith the week before, she will be showing them at ONE--please buy whatever she has left. It's amazing work, and it will help provide much needed funds for her trip to Chicago.

I can't wait to see you all on the dancefloor, all night long, one last time before I leave. Yes I'll be back to play at ONE and other events, but this is a momentous occasion for me and Katie, and we would truly love to share it with all of you.
